For reasons that escape me, I seem to be filled with positivity and excitement. It could be the music that I'm listening to or the fact that I am about to embark on a much-anticipated trip to a boat race in Canada. It could be that I am seeing people that used to be allowed to run free finally pay for their crimes; crimes like obstruction of justice and driving on a suspended license again. (You know who you are.) Hope, drive, and determination are necessary to bring about positive change in the world. However, flexibility and reason are also essential. If you think that things aren't turning out the way you wanted, remember this quote: "For every problem there is a solution; if there is no solution, then there is no problem." (That came from a Belgian film called "Le Mur.")

We can't waste our time dwelling on the past. That's absurd. We have to look to the future and envision a world in which we would want to live. Focus on getting there. Everything else is bunk.
